05 Oct 2023 --- The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) has flagged that some of the biggest food traders bypass existing regulations by not being monitored as financial institutions but as manufacturing companies. This adds to the global food crisis, as consumers face the brunt of the high cost of living. It now calls for a “fundamental revision” of this regulatory approach.
