Titan Launches New Compact, Twin-Shaft ER610 Eco-Logical Rewinder at K' 20070
The Titan ER610 is an affordable, high performance slitter rewinder making it a cost-effective solution benefiting from established and reliable Titan slitting technology.
16/11/07 TITAN is pleased to confirm the introduction of the newly designed, twin-shaft Titan ER610 cantilever slitter rewinder to complement its already very successful Titan SR8 model.
The new Titan ER610 ‘Eco-logical Rewinder’ is the fruit of extensive market research and also exhaustive design and development work by Atlas Converting Equipment Ltd. and Bobst, to bring a more compact and cost-effective solution in slitting & rewinding technology.
This innovative and more environmentally friendly slitting & rewinding solution also helps to make a contribution towards the reduction of carbon emissions, thereby helping to protect the environment through:-
* Reduced power consumption
* Eliminating hydraulics for oil-free, hygienic operation
* Using unlubricated compressed air for zero oil / air emissions
* Less steel in a more compact design
* One piece construction for rapid installation & start-up*
* Shipping in one 20ft container for reduced logistics
* Commissioning not essential
The Titan ER610 is an affordable, high performance slitter rewinder making it a cost-effective solution benefiting from established and reliable Titan slitting technology. Delivery is very quick following order confirmation and it will also have the benefit of Bobst global customer service & support operations.
The ER610 extends the Titan portfolio of slitter rewinders by addressing the needs of converters who produce lower volumes of flexible materials. It can also be offered as part of a Titan ‘combined slitting solution package’ in conjunction with the already very successful, automated SR8 machine, ideally suited to larger converters wishing to address more comprehensive production requirements.
The ER610 is designed to process 1350 and 1650 mm (53 & 65 in) web widths at a maximum running speed of 450 m/min (1476 ft/min). The minimum slit width is 50 mm (1.97 in) with a maximum rewind diameter of 610 mm (24 in) on twin cantilever differential rewind shafts.
The new machine also features an integral edge-trim extraction system and an integral shaftless fixed-height unwind stand with pneumatically controlled braking system. A digital edge / line guide system controls lateral movement of the unwind reel to +/- 50 mm.
The ER610 includes the Bobst designed ‘3G Cube’ format non-obsolescent control system with a 10” flat touch-screen terminal, non-language sensitive symbols, compact flash memory and fault diagnostics. This control system has been developed and designed in-house by Bobst and will always be fully supported.
Slitting systems available are shear, rotary razor (burst) or razor slitting in air or groove. Optional features include a static electricity control system, laser (line) core positioning, EU safety guarding, laser scanners and unwind roll loading trolley.
The Titan ER610 has been ‘Carbon Footprint’ approved, having been assessed for its contribution towards reducing carbon emissions (for more information, please see http://www.carbonfootprint.com ).
Titan is perceived as the global market leader in twin-shaft cantilever slitter rewinders for a wide range of flexible materials. There are currently more than 2000 Titan slitter rewinders installed in over 70 countries.
The machine was demonstrated for the first time at the K’2007 exhibition in Düsseldorf, Germany from 24th to 31st October, on stand no. 3-D52 in Hall 3 and the sale of the first machine was confirmed at the show to converter Nural Plastik of Izmir in Turkey.
