Tereos Brings Together all Business Activities Under a Single Brand Name
09 Nov 2015 --- Over a period of 20 years, Tereos has built up an extensive portfolio of business activities in France and internationally around its core business: sugar and sweeteners. Throughout its development, the Group has structured its brands around its businesses and geographical locations: Tereos France, Tereos Syral, Tereos Indian Ocean, Tereos Romania, Tereos TTD, Guarani, etc.
Today, in order to better meet the requirements of more open markets, and to allow its customers to benefit from one of the widest product portfolios on the market, the Group is gathering all of its business activities under a “single brand”: Tereos.
“As a cooperative group and the world’s 3rd largest sugar producer, our ambition is to accompany markets which undergo profound transformations and to meet our customers’ needs in order to get the most value out of the agricultural commodities we process. We are pursuing this mission with conviction through today’s decision to deploy a single brand: Tereos”, states Alexis Duval, Chief Executive Officer of Tereos.
This change has three major objectives:
- Improving the visibility of one of the most comprehensive and innovative product portfolios in the sector, and of a multi-origin commercial offer (43 industrial facilities – 12 countries – 4 continents), which meets the highest standards of quality assurance and food safety.
- Supporting the Group’s strategy. Creating a single brand supports the Group’s development strategy, thus consolidating the Group’s various businesses and its diverse brand portfolio of sugar, alcohol and starch products.
- Preparing for 2017 and anticipating market changes. The end of quotas in 2017 will profoundly disrupt sugar production balances in Europe and elsewhere. The competitiveness of European sugar companies and their ability to export and innovate will become major issues. The deployment of a single brand highlights the major progress made by Tereos in these areas.
The grouping of its business activities under a single brand name reflects Tereos’ commitment to supporting the Group’s strategy regarding its various products: sugar, sweeteners, alcohol and starch. It also contributes to providing a simpler, more effective response to all its partners: cooperative growers, farmers, customers and employees.
