Surf Brewery Releases Seasonal IPA
15 Sep 2015 --- Ventura, CA — Surf Brewery, a small craft brewery, open since 2011, with an onsite tasting room and homebrew shop, and only Southern California distribution, announced that they are releasing a Seasonal IPA to follow on the heels of what was their standard black IPA, now a seasonal.
Surf Avocado Honey IPA, will incorporate local honey from Bennett’s Honey Farm in Fillmore, CA., and a variety of complimentary hops. At 7% abv and 73 theoretical IBUs this one has some memorable flavor.
Head brewer Nick Valasquez mentioned, “We really like incorporating local ingredients into our beer, like recently adding espresso from a local roaster and grapefruit from a local ranch. We have used honey in one or two other brews before and wanted to have it more of the focus of this seasonal IPA. Notice the lack of artwork on the bottles; we just wanted to focus on the local ingredient in the beer.” Now available in bottles and on draft.
