Spar has unveiled four new wines for the summer: a Provence Rosé, a Primitivo from Puglia, a Touraine Sauvignon Blanc and a Spanish Gran Reserva from Valdepeñas.
The Provence Rosé won a Bronze award at Decanter World Wine awards 2016 (DWWA), and was commended at the 2016 International Wine Challenge (IWC).
Primitivo is the third biggest selling wine varietal export from Italy and is in 75% growth in the convenience sector. The wine won a Bronze medal at the 2016 DWWA.
The Sauvignon Blanc from Touraine was awarded a Silver medal at the 2016 DWWA and a Bronze at the 2016 IWC.
The Spanish Gran Reserva, which also took a Bronze award at the 2016 DWWA and was commended at 2016 IWC, comes from the historic Valdepeñas wine region – an area renowned for producing high quality but affordable wines.
Tina Hird, Spar UK head of beer, wine and spirits, said: “We are really excited about our new launches, which are all very high quality wines offering great value for money.
“Our Touraine Sauvignon is a premium quality wine from a fantastic domain, which has been added to the range as Sauvignon Blanc sales continue to grow, and gives customers the choice to trade up for special occasions.”
