River North To Release Quad XO
27 Jul 2015
27 Jul 2015 --- Deep within their towers of aging barrels, River North’s brewers uncovered a hidden gem.
After stashing it away for nearly a year and a half, River North Brewery will release Quad XO, an Abbey-style quadrupel aged in Chardonnay barrels. The official release party will take place at the Denver taproom on Saturday, August 1st, starting at 1pm.
“I have only one regret about this beer,” Founder and Head Brewer Matt Hess said. “It took 15 months to make, so I won’t have another batch until sometime in 2017. It was a one of our early barrel-aged projects, and after tasting it, I wish we brewed more.”
Dancing on the tongue with an effervescent dryness, Quad XO pays homage to the divine roots of the quadrupel style. An extended rest in oak barrels elevates this traditional beer to a whole new level.
River North will have drafts and bottles-to-go at the release party August 1st. With only 135 cases bottled, the brewery recommends you stock up, as only a very limited supply will reach bottle shops in Colorado and Kansas City. Bombers will cost $15 with a half-case limit at the release.
