Resealable Packaging Solutions for Private Label Brands
The Zip-Pak DoubleZip is another popular choice for private label brands looking to highlight the premium quality of their product lines with better packaging.
Zip-Pak, the global leader in building brands through resealable packaging, will be showcasing hundreds of innovative zipper solutions from 16 to 19 June at AUSPACK 2009 to help private label manufacturers gain market share with the convenience of resealable packaging.
Zip-Pak will be introducing a variety of specialty closures that provide stronger brand appeal, increased consumer convenience and extended product freshness.
Zip-Pak’s Director of Global Marketing, Robert E. Hogan says cost-conscious consumers continue to fuel demand for private label products across Australia and New Zealand.
"It is paramount for retailers to better convey the premium quality of their value-focused product lines against other brand name counterparts," Hogan says.
"A resealable closure can be a simple yet effective package feature that influences consumers to make private labels their final purchase preference.”
At AUSPACK, Zip-Pak will be highlighting patented closure technologies such as the Transverse-Direction (TD) ZIP-PAK SLIDER which is applied across the top of a package in a cross-web direction, making it possible to incorporate a resealable feature on stand-up pouch packaging.
The TD Slider is suitable for sealing pet food, powdered products or frozen food and offers storage convenience as consumers are able to save contents in the original package, thus exposing customers to brand messages throughout the product’s use.
Ideal for pre-made pouches and form/fill/seal applications, Zip-Pak’s family of Slider profiles can run on virtually all packaging formats and machinery configurations – making this a cost and labor efficient investment for private label manufacturers.
Zip-Pak Systems, the company’s equipment division, is also able to develop customized retrofits to enable manufacturers to apply resealable technology during the packaging process.
The Zip-Pak DoubleZip is another popular choice for private label brands looking to highlight the premium quality of their product lines with better packaging.
Featuring two sets of interlocking profiles that are ergonomically designed to guide consumers’ fingers along a path, the DoubleZip ensures complete closure every time and reduces product exposure to environmental contaminants that lead to spoilage, so food items stay fresher longer.
“The resealable trend is gaining momentum across leading supermarkets like Woolworths, Foodstuffs, and Coles,” says Hogan.
“We are now seeing more private label brands such as Select, Signature, Pam’s, Home Brand, Naytura, and Coles pack products such as breakfast cereals, grated cheeses, dried fruits, and coffee in resealable formats.
By focusing on quality, convenience and strong branding through functional and eye-catching packaging, private label brands are now more prominent on shelves and well poised to improve their bottom line even during this economic downturn.”
