Redpack Solution Wraps Nutritional Food Products
Bars continue through a metal detector, that has an automatic reject ejector and ejected bar collection container, and onto a phase feeder that automatically feeds the bars into a servo driven flow wrapping machine for over-wrapping.
18/12/07 Redpack Packaging Machinery has recently completed a contract to supply an innovative, purpose designed packing line for wrapping individual chocolate enrobed cereal bars at a well-known manufacturer of nutritional foods based in Northamptonshire.
The new line consists of a take off conveyor that accepts bars from the enrobing line and transports them, via a 900 conveyor, to an orientation module where they are turned for alignment with the line flow. Bars continue through a metal detector, that has an automatic reject ejector and ejected bar collection container, and onto a phase feeder that automatically feeds the bars into a servo driven flow wrapping machine for over-wrapping. To prevent chocolate melt when the line stops, the hot cover plates over the flow wrapper seam crimp rollers are water cooled. Line speed varies between 60 – 250 packs per minute, and the flow wrapper can accommodate cold seal, heat seal and laminate film stock.

Redpack Packaging Machinery carried out full trials of this complex flow wrapping line at its factory prior to delivering it to the customer. This reduced onsite engineering costs and minimised production disruption at the customer’s factory during the installation and commissioning phases.
