Red Hare Expands Craft Soda Line with Sparkling Grapefruit Flavor
23 Jun 2016 --- Following the success of Red Hare’s Root Beer can launch in January 2016, the Brewery has decided to expand their craft soda brand with the introduction of their Sparkling Grapefruit. “As a family friendly establishment, we’re proud to brew a lineup of non-alcoholic brands,” says owner Roger Davis, “Our new grapefruit soda is perfect for all ages, as a thirst quenching treat, or to mix with beer or liquor to create refreshing summer cocktails!”
Red Hare brews all sodas in house with pure cane sugar to give each flavor a nostalgic sweetness. The subtle zest of grapefruit flavors combine with the natural pure cane sugar for a sweet, aromatic, citrus soda that will be available on draught and in 6 pack cans starting July, 2016. The brewery hopes to have a third soda flavor join the brand family as early as Fall 2016.
SPF 50/50 – Your Summer BeerWhile this sparkling grapefruit soda will be new to the market in July, customers have already been enjoying the recipe in Red Hare’s hot summer beer, SPF 50/50; an India Pale Radler combining the brewery’s hoppy Gangway IPA with their sweet grapefruit soda. SPF 50/50 has been flying off shelves throughout the brewery’s footprint leading Red Hare to triple production on the beer and soda to meet the growing demand!
The Rise of the Can Staying true to Red Hare’s commitment to sustainability, the budding soda line will be cans only, no bottles. While aluminum cans are infinitely recyclable, more and more Georgia cities are turning away from recycling glass, making packaging a big part of consumer decisions today. Cans have also seen a rise in popularity in the craft beer world Red Hare knows very well. “We’ve always been a can only brand,” says Head Brewer Bobby Thomas. “We were the first brewery in Georgia to put our beer in cans and we’ve never thought about changing things. Cans are better for the life of the beverage and they’re safe to take with you to the pool, beach or golf course.” Red Hare plans to launch additional canned beers and sodas later this year.
