Real Torino introduces three new flavors
The new flavors join the existing grissini product line consisting of classic plain, onion and pizza.
02/03/06 Real Torino, Inc., a specialty food importer that allows consumers to prepare an authentic Italian, culinary experience at home, has introduced three new savory flavors -- garlic and herbs, rosemary and sesame -- to its renowned grissini breadstick product line.
Grissini is the crispy, thin and unmistakably light breadsticks that originate from Torino, Italy, the site of the 2006 Winter Olympics. With origins dating back more than 300 years ago, grissini from Torino, Italy was the personal favorite of Napoleon and Italian Duke Vittorio Amedeo II of the House of Savoy. More than two decades ago, the president of Torino went to Italy and as part of his graduate school project, introduced the authentic grissini breadstick to American palates.
The new flavors join the existing grissini product line consisting of classic plain, onion and pizza. The thin, baked breadsticks are made with only the finest, all-natural ingredients and coated with extra virgin olive oil to seal in the flavor. Freshness dating on each package ensures customer satisfaction.
Originally found in fine restaurants in New York, Torino's grissini line is now widely available throughout the New York tri-state area at specialty gourmet shops, supermarkets and independent groceries including select A&P, Food Emporium, Shop Rite, Stop & Shop and Wegmans and nationwide at Safeway stores or at http://www.pasta.com.
Torino grissini breadsticks are usually found in the snack and Italian food sections; they are available at a suggested retail price of $2.29 for a 4.25-ounce package.
