Purity Vodka Sweeps The Spirits Business Competition: Honored with Best Vodka and Best Overall Spirit Award
05 Dec 2014 --- Purity Vodka, a Swedish small-batch, ultra-premium vodka, won the most prestigious title of overall Grand Spirit Master at The Spirits Business' 2014 Spirits Masters Competition, becoming the first vodka to ever take the title, defeating ultra-premium brands not only within the vodka category, but also cognac, whisky, tequila and all other spirits categories. The grand finale award was announced after the brand accepted the Grand Vodka Master award, causing a standing ovation at the London awards ceremony.
The Spirits Business hosts several competitions, receiving more than 1,000 submissions throughout the year. Medals are awarded based on blind tasting panels of spirit experts and trade journalists evaluating within an extensive criteria.
"Not only has Purity Vodka just been named Grand Vodka Master as vodka-of-the-year for the fourth year in a row, but also as Grand Spirit Master 2014 – the best overall spirit amongst all categories and more than 1,000 entries," said Daisy Jones, publisher, The Spirits Business.
In addition to winning Grand Spirit Master, Purity Vodka dominated the Vodka category in the 2014 Vodka Masters, continuing its unparalleled run as the Grand Vodka Master for the fourth consecutive year; three Masters' Awards in the Micro Distillery, Smooth and European categories; and three Gold Medals in the Super Premium, Organic and Scandinavian categories.
"Earning the title of Grand Spirit Master is a proud and humbling moment for Purity Vodka. We have shown that our vodka represents exceptional taste not only within our category, but throughout the spirits industry as a whole," said Thomas Kuuttanen, master blender, Purity Vodka.
