06 Nov 2015 --- Following Monsanto’s failed bid for Syngenta earlier in the year, there are rumours of talks between DuPont and Syngenta about a possible merger. US newspaper The Wall Street Journal reported that the two companies were in early merger talks and that DuPont is looking at a separate deal with agri-business Dow Chemical.
A merger between DuPont and Syngenta would great the biggest shake-up of the industry in over a decade and would put serious pressure on Monsanto, which previously tried to unsuccessfully buy Syngenta for $46bn.
