Poore Brothers announces introduction of new T.G.I. Friday's brand meat snacks line

18/05/05 Poore Brothers, Inc. has announced the introduction of a new line of T.G.I. Friday's brand meat snacks pursuant to its licensing agreement with Carlson Restaurants Worldwide Inc. As a result of the Company's excellent success with T.G.I. Friday's brand salted snacks, Carlson Restaurants Worldwide expanded the product categories for which the Company is the authorized licensee.
The initial meat snack products were developed utilizing several different meats, such as beef steak and chicken, and are tender strips of meat, not like traditionally hard-bite beef jerky items. All of the products are strongly seasoned consistent with Poore Brothers' reputation for An Intensely Different Taste. The products and seasonings were developed collaboratively with T.G.I. Friday's culinary team. The new items include Original Steak, BBQ Flavored Chicken and Mesquite Smoked Steak, are ready to eat, and come in resealable packaging. Meat snacks are primarily sold through convenience stores and the Company plans initially to target this channel, however, the product will also be made available to grocery, mass, club and vending retailers in appropriate sizes and configurations.
Meat snack retail sales are over $3.0 billion and have been growing at double digit rates over the past several years, significantly faster than most other snack categories. The product line boasts being high in protein, low in fat, low in carbohydrates, fun, great tasting and convenient to eat for the "on-the-go" young adults and health conscience adults who are seeking "Better-For-You" products. Even though males are the primary consumers, females are a rapidly growing segment, especially since this category is quickly becoming a staple in grocery stores, mass merchandisers and club stores.
