Peak of the Market introduces “ready to serve” Gourmet Soups
First “Canadian Company” to produce Tetra Pak soups.
19/12/05 Peak of the Market launched their “ready to serve” Gourmet Soups at a well attended Press Conference. Peak of the Market has an established and trusted brand name selling fresh vegetables for the past 63-years. This is their first entry into processed foods and they are the first “Canadian Company” to produce Tetra Pak soups.
“We were looking for a way to make vegetables even more convenient for people wanting to eat healthier and who have less time to prepare quality meals. Ready to serve gourmet soups was a natural.” stated Larry McIntosh, President & CEO, Peak of the Market. “This project has been 2 years in the making. It's been worth the wait as the consumer taste test results have been outstanding.”
Peak of the Market Gourmet Soups are all natural, have no preservatives, additives, artificial flavours or colour and are trans fat free. They are vegetarian friendly as they contain no meat or meat based stock. The carrots, onions and potatoes are grown less than 5 kilometers from where they are cooked and only fresh grated cheddar cheese is used.
Peak of the Market Gourmet Soup does not need to be refrigerated until opened and has a “best enjoyed by date” of over 6 months. They will be available coast to coast in 1 Litre resealable containers in four unique flavours, Carrot, Cheddar & Dill, Tomato, Carrot & Basil, Squash with Apple & Pumpkin and Onion & Potato. Peak of the Market has found new ways to try to increase vegetable consumption to help make Canadians healthier.
