Palsgaard has expanded production of its Emulpals powdered cake emulsifiers — the company’s range of plant-based, clean label emulsifiers for bakery premixes — to Brazil to keep pace with the growing global and regional demand for the whipping agents.
The plant-based emulsifier specialists say they can be used in a variety of cake mixes to accelerate production speed, deliver high aeration, and soften cakes. They can also allow a switch from saturated or trans-fats to unsaturated liquid oils.
After 40 years of successful production in Denmark, Palsgaard Brazil is now manufacturing the emulsifiers for the first time. An additional production site in Brazil will help guarantee supply security, while a team of application experts will collaborate with customers.
Supply security
The emulsifiers will also be specially developed options for the Brazilian and Latin American markets, and they are aligned to global quality and functionality standards, notes the company.

The expansion in Brazil closely follows Palsgaard’s inauguration of a state-of-the-art application center in Navi Mumbai, India, in July. The new facility is designed to enhance product development capabilities and provide localized technical support across key food categories in India.
