New Corrugated Display Pack for Preformed Trays from DS Smith Packaging
The new pack, which is made from 100% recycled liners, has a finger pull hole to remove the lid, leaving a strong and secure high sided tray that converts from its transit state to 'retail ready' in a few seconds.
1/4/2011 --- DS Smith Packaging Launceston has developed a new and innovative way of displaying packs on shelf in chilled cabinets. The open flute Rapid Display Pack increases product visibility, especially on higher shelves. The inside of the case is composed of ‘open fluting’, the bottom flaps automatically erect and incorporate a central divider which holds shallow preformed plastic trays vertically on display.
The new pack, which is made from 100% recycled liners, has a finger pull hole to remove the lid, leaving a strong and secure high sided tray that converts from its transit state to 'retail ready' in a few seconds.
Launceston has already made half a million open flute packs for Tulip Ltd, part of Danish Crown, the well-known provider of Danepak Bacon products who supply Tesco’s own brand bacon.
The new design reduces material, enabling lower stock inventory and uses 33% less warehouse space. There are also savings on packing line space, transportation and fuel. The one-piece design, with an auto-crash lock bottom, reduces packing time by 30%. The new pack ensures a 100% pallet fit, achieves 11% space advantage and by redesigning the pack’s size to suit shelf depth, a 10% on shelf space advantage has been achieved over the previous three piece tray and lid.
