Naturally-Produced Zero Trans Oil is Here
Made from 100 percent pure soybean oil, Whole Harvest uses an expeller-pressed approach that does not involve hexane, a flammable solvent typically used in the production of most cooking oils.

29/04/09 Despite recent news reports to the contrary, there is a way to get the healthy benefits of a no trans oil without resorting to genetically altered soybean oil. That way is Whole Harvest, the nation's first naturally processed no trans fat cooking oil produced without the use of blends or harsh chemicals.
For years, scientists have wondered how to produce a stable, zero trans fat cooking oil without resorting to genetically altered soybean oil. Whole Harvest, it now turns out, discovered the answer, in 2003.
"We are the first, and as far as we know, the only naturally-produced zero trans oil in the nation made from non-modified soybean oil," said Bob Dawson, Chief Operating Officer of Whole Harvest. "You don't have to genetically alter soybean oil to achieve stability and zero trans. We use only natural soybean oil - and have for many years."
It now appears that millions of dollars and thousands of man-hours have been wasted in the unnecessary crusade to genetically engineer soybean oil. While much press has been devoted to breakthroughs in hybrid soybean oils such as low-linolenic and high-oleics, Whole Harvest has been producing cooking oils by expeller pressing non-modified soybean oil for half a decade. By not using harsh chemicals or hydrogenation, Whole Harvest oils retain their natural Omega-3 fatty acids and Vitamin E. The process also produces no harmful by-products.
Whole Harvest isn't the only one in the know. The company has been awarded eight U.S. production and product patents for its proprietary production methods. Independent testing conducted by North Carolina State University and Texas A&M University has also corroborated the company's findings. In addition, the university tests showed that Whole Harvest creates a better-tasting food product.
Made from 100 percent pure soybean oil, Whole Harvest uses an expeller-pressed approach that does not involve hexane, a flammable solvent typically used in the production of most cooking oils. In addition to being all-natural, the Whole Harvest line of culinary oils is not hydrogenated, the process that creates harmful trans fats shown to play a key role in the development of heart disease, diabetes and stroke. Whole Harvest cooking oils are cost competitive and have longer shelf and fry lives than the leading standard hydrogenated cooking oils.
The Whole Harvest line of culinary oils includes Whole Harvest SmartFry (commercial frying oil), Whole Harvest Culinary Oil (salads, sauteing and baking), Whole Harvest SmartCoat (non-stick pan spray), and Whole Harvest Pan & Griddle (butter flavored spray).
