Musselman's introduces Sesame Street Apple Sauces
A new line of single- serving, fruit-flavored apple sauces that will help kids develop a lifetime of healthy eating habits.
16/08/05 Knouse Foods, maker of Musselman's products, have teamed with the nonprofit educational organization Sesame Workshop to launch a new line of single- serving, fruit-flavored apple sauces that will help kids develop a lifetime of healthy eating habits.
Colorful and delicious, the three new flavors -- Elmo Cherry, Big Bird Green Apple and Cookie Monster Grape -- have 25 percent less sugar than traditional apple sauce. They also are naturally fat-free, contain no artificial flavors and are fortified with 100 percent vitamin C and 10 percent calcium (based on the US Food and Drug Administration's Daily Values). Each single-serving package pictures one of the beloved Sesame Street characters.
The new Musselman's apple sauces support Sesame Workshop's Healthy Habits for Life initiative, created to help young children and their parents develop healthy eating and exercise habits that will last a lifetime and to reduce future health risks, such as diabetes, that are associated with obesity.
Musselman's recently launched a pre-school-friendly Web site to support the Healthy Habits for Life initiative. The site, which can be accessed at http://www.musselmans.com, provides recipes, activities for children and tips that encourage healthy eating.
