Molson Coors Unveils Carling British Cider – Orchard Fruits
27 Jan 2015 --- Molson Coors, one of the UK’s biggest brewers, has launched Carling British Cider – Orchard Fruits, the second flavoured version of its original cider product, Carling British Cider.
The ‘Orchard Fruit’ segment, which consists of fruits such as peach and apricot, is in both volume and value growth with consumers saying the flavour is best associated with cider over other long alcohol drinks.
Jim Shearer, brand director, Carling at Molson Coors UK comments: “Cider is an exciting category and continues to attract more and more consumers with the fruit cider category registering 30% year-on-year growth. In response to this demand, we’re launching Carling British Cider – Orchard Fruits.
“We believe that the recipe for success for the Carling British Cider portfolio is recognisably British flavours that are simply described and distinct in their flavour profile. This is the key reason that the Cherry flavour has delivered beyond our expectations.
“We expect Orchard Fruits will continue to build on the momentum we are gaining with the Carling British Cider portfolio, particularly following the win of Product of the Year Award 2015 for Carling British Cider – Apple.”
Carling British Cider – Apple won Product of the Year (POY) 2015 following votes from over 12,000 UK households. POY is the world’s largest consumer-voted award for product innovation and operates in 40 countries. It is widely recognised by shoppers, which combined with the International Brewing Award is further testament to the quality of the Carling British Cider product.
Available across the UK in both the on- and off-trade, Carling British Cider – Orchard Fruits is 4% ABV and will be sold in single 500ml bottles.
