Mars Chocolate France Invests €40 Million in Alsace Factory
The site is responsible for almost 90% of European M&M’s production and a significant proportion of Mars bar production.
Jan 11 2012 --- Mars Chocolate has been in the region for more than 30 years and employs almost 1,200 Associates across two plants in Haguenau and Steinbourg. The site is responsible for almost 90% of European M&M’s production and a significant proportion of Mars bar production.
The decision to invest was made as a result of the hard work and commitment of the Haguenau teams who were able to demonstrate the site’s potential for growth, its efficiency, productivity and value and will now benefit from substantial long term investment. This investment will allow Mars chocolate to modernize, increase productivity and Plant Associates will benefit from an improved working environment.
The investment will also benefit the wider local economy and community with the production capacity of the factory increasing by 20% and the creation of 30 short term roles to facilitate this expansion. Mars Chocolate France also works closely with more than 700 other businesses in the Alsace region, an annual investment of €36 million in the local economy.
