MANE Integrates Former Cargill Blends and Preparations Plant
09 Oct 2014 --- MANE has celebrated the integration of its new plant dedicated to the manufacture of blends and preparations for the food industry. The site of Rubí was officially presented as a part of the MANE Group in an local event that counted with the participation of Mr. Jean M. MANE, CEO and the Corporate Management of the company as well as of a number of Institutional personalities which were presided by Mr. Felip Puig, Honorable Minister of industry of the Generalitat de Catalunya and Mrs. Carme García, Mayor of the city of Rubí.
The Rubí plant has a long history in the world of ingredients for the meat industry. With this acquisition, MANE further confirms its interest in developing its presence and commitment to this market segment with this leading company, whose functional blends for the meat market have been commercialised for more than 50 years.
Mr. MANE, President and CEO of the group, addressed to the attendees of the ceremony in Spanish, stating that the Group’s interest in developing business in Spain from the area of Barcelona dated back to 30 years ago, when the MANE Ibérica office was created.
In his own words: “Everything we do in the world is driven by the passion in our profession, in our customers, our partners, suppliers and our employees but also in the local authorities that can grant them the license to operate and grow”…. “Our passion for innovation and our enthusiasm drives us to develop all the components to create a Company with the most complete and diversified portfolio of solutions for the flavour industry over the world”.
After acquiring the "Compounds" (blends) business from Cargill, MANE is working to leverage the position on the segment of functional blends. The objective is to become a European leader for the Savoury sector, including the world of solutions for the meat industry and related savoury products. M. MANE said: “I have no doubt that our MANE team knows the way how to progress faster than the competition and how to conquer the decisions and the hearts of our customers”.
Since MANE acquired the factory, managed by its MANE Ibérica subsidiary, the production of blends for the meat sector has not ceased. In addition, the company is studying the increase of the proportion of blends produced in Rubí for export and its integration into the production network of the Group. It is not discarded, on a medium-term basis, the elaboration of new products thanks to the combination of Rubí’s team expertise in texture with the MANE Group’s expertise in flavour solutions.
The new challenges demanded by the market will benefit now from a perfectly adapted functional and flavouring approach.
The plant of Rubí completes, together with the plants of Queven and of Sablé-sur-Sarthe in France, the European network of MANE as a supplier of blends and unique solutions for the savoury market. Mr. MANE expressed: “I can only assure my confidence in the ability of this team to create the future for us, preserving the knowledge of traditional recipes and creating real regional culinary specialties but also adapting them to a larger consumer’s preferences.”
MANE is also participating in another project with the Catalan group Nufri for the preparation of blends based on fruits for the food industry, focused mainly on compound solutions for the beverage market. As previously communicated by the Group, both companies formed the joint venture MANUFRI in 2012 and built together a plant in the facilities of Nufri in Mollerussa (Lleida), with an initial investment of €4M.
“We are based on family management principles respecting, above all, the natural and human resources, the broad knowledge and local experience and the good practices for a sustainable development.” as Mr. MANE said.
