13/10/08 French company Nutritis has developed a range of natural “100 % fruit” sugars, which meets the growing demand of ingredients bringing naturalness, nutritional benefits and pleasure. The new ingredients will be introduced at SIAL in Paris at the beginning of next week (Stand: 3G 025).
Nutritis is innovating with a unique and patented process which allows to extract sugars in their native form from many different fruits, using alternative technologies, without additive or harmful solvent. “This process, developed in cooperation with INSA Toulouse, ensures naturalness and respect for the nutritional benefits of the products throughout the production line, while limiting the impact of the industrial activity on the environment”, Adriana Georges at the company told FoodIngredientsFirst.com.
After receiving the prize of the French ‘Concours National de l’Innovation Agroalimentaire’ (Food Innovation Contest) in Paris SIAL 2006, this year Nutritis will be presenting its FructiSweet and FructiSweet Original ranges, characterised by their custom made carbohydrate composition (fructose-glucose-sucrose ratio), their stability and their unparalleled purity.
The sweetening power of the company’s solutions enables the obtention of low-sugar food with reduced calorie intake without compromising the sweet taste and thus, preventing frustrating feelings. the natural sugars are very slowly assimilated and do not entail sudden increase in glycaemia and therefore in insulinaemia which contributes to fat storage. They strengthen the satiety feeling and thus enable to prevent food cravings.
It is possible to increase satiety, reduce the risk of hypoglycaemia and food cravings while decreasing the sugar content with the FructiLight range. FructiLight is a fruit sweetener of unique qualities, with a glycaemic index of 9 and a gradual release of energy (+ 30 min compared with fructose and + 60 min compared with glucose) associated with a high sweetness intensity. The FructiSweet Original range is particularly suitable for dry biscuits. As for cakes, the FructiSweet range allows the enhancement and preservation of a smooth texture by decreasing the Aw of the end product.
Nutritis will propose a dozen products developed with its natural sugars from fruits (jams, fruit preparations, ice creams and sorbets, dairy products, beverages) meeting the new market requirements: friendlier ingredients-list, glycaemia regulation, clean label, “100% fruits”, less sugar content, nutritional balance and gustative pleasure.
