Limagrain Launches Solution for Natural and Premium Crisp Market
“The combination of LCI’s unique and specific corn raw material and a two-sided crisp, with one side ridged and the other side smooth, gives Maize Super Chips a light, crunchy and melt-in-the-mouth texture.”
7 Apr 2010 --- Limagrain Cereales Ingredients (LCI) has launched maize super chips, a two-sided crisp with a light, innovative texture that is promoted as ideal for the natural and premium market.
“Maize Super Chips, a crisp with a light and innovative texture, is the latest addition to our snack product range,” says Patricia Panel-Dusséaux, Marketing Manager for Snack Products at LCI. “The combination of LCI’s unique and specific corn raw material and a two-sided crisp, with one side ridged and the other side smooth, gives Maize Super Chips a light, crunchy and melt-in-the-mouth texture.”
She explains that the smooth and ridged sides are perfect for retaining flavour and, while the oval shape is simple enough, each crisp expands slightly differently, curving as it is fried.
The recipe contains no additives, just corn flour, sugar and salt - and hence is ideal for the 'Natural and Premium' market.
“Last but not least, the low density and irregular shape of the crisps after expansion make them easy to pack into bags,” she adds.
