KHS Till Further Strengthens Its Position in the U.K.
Joseph Holt's Brewery places its trust in KHS Till special solution.
02/01/2006 Joseph Holt's Brewery in the United Kingdom has quite specifically placed its trust in KHS Till for its investment in new keg technology. This strengthens the market position of KHS Till, world market leader in the area of keg system technology, in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
KHS Till kegging technology is much in demand in the markets in the United Kingdom and Ireland where nearly thirty KHS Till systems are currently in operation. For example, Diageo, Heineken, Scottish Courage, Fuller Smith & Turner, Green King and Shepherd Neame, consistently make use of the latest KHS Till keg technology.
Joseph Holt's Brewery is a family owned brewery now in the fifth generation. The brewery commenced brewing in 1849 and has established an excellent reputation for supplying quality cask and keg lagers. Its bottled beer range was recently successful at the Brewing Industry International Awards in Munich with 1849 taking a gold medal and Maple Moon a silver. These beers are complemented by Tesco beer Challenge winning HumDinger, Thunderholt, 5th Sense and Touchwood.

The KHS Till machine is a two-lane Innokeg TRANSOMAT DUO 3/1 XL machine. The decisive advantage of the two-lane version of the Innokeg Transomat DUO 3/1 XL is a space saving of about 40 percent. The considerably smaller footprint in comparison to traditional TRANSOMAT inline machines is made possible mainly by combining two independent processing lanes in only one machine frame. The Innokeg TRANSOMAT DUO 3/1 XL is equipped with three active washing stations and one racking station in each lane.
The compact nature of the machine means it will occupy the same footprint as the existing keg plant but offers more than double the capacity at 120 kegs/hour when processing 50-liter kegs. In addition to space savings, further reasons for Joseph Holt’s decision in favour of investing in KHS Till kegging technology were the technological superiority and the high washing efficiency of the machine.
The line is also equipped for handling the 22-gallon kegs - a keg size used specifically in the United Kingdom - at an output of 80 kegs/h. KHS Till will supply the equipment as a turnkey system. Conveying equipment and tanks are also included within the scope of the delivery contract.
With new KHS Till keg system technology, Joseph Holt's Brewery will be well set up for further success in the keg beer sector. The Diamond Premium Lager and Crystal Standard Lager brands are available in 50-liter kegs and 22-gallon kegs respectively. The brewery distributes to 125 owned pubs and free trade in Manchester and the surrounding area. In addition they supply a programme of seasonal cask beers to national pub companies.
