Just In Time For Independence Day of Finland Sinebrychoff Porter Has Been Launched
On 2 December, in time for the Independence Day of Finland, the Finnish porter from Sinebrychoff in Sweden was launched. Sinebrychoff Porter has won a number of awards, both nationally and internationally. It is a dark, top-fermented beer brewed with roasted malt and lots of hops.
Sinebrychoff Porter was manufactured back in the 1860s, then in relatively small quantities and mainly during the winter months. Since 1957, this porter was brewed continuously and the recipe remains largely unchanged. The flavor is rich with malty burnt notes with traces of chocolate, coffee and liquorice, together with fruity aromas give a rich taste experience.
- Sinebrychoff Porter is Finland's oldest specialty beers and consists of four different kinds of malt, pilsner, brown and caramel. It is best enjoyed in the winter when the soft rich taste is a perfect medicine against blustery winds and sub-zero temperatures, says Anna Wallner, beverage educators at Carlsberg Sweden.
Award-winning, nationally and internationally
Sinebrychoff Porter has received numerous awards. The Beverage Testing Institute in Chicago rated the stout as one of America's top imported beer, where for the last ten years it has also been sold in 37 states, and at international beer Olympics in England, where nearly a thousand beers from around the world participated, and won the silver medal both 1998 and 2002. The American magazine Men's Journal has included Sinebrychoff Porter on its list of the world's 25 best beers in both 2010 and 2011. In the international competition The World Beer Awards 2013 the beer lately won silver among European porters.
In Finland Sinebrychoff Porter has been nominated several times for this year's draft beer. In 2011, it was elected Finland's best beer of Finland Ölförening.
- It is of course great that Swedes now may take advantage of this award winning beer with its venerable history. Sinebrychoff Porter is an exciting beer in many ways. It's dark, bordering on black, unfiltered and smells wonderfully of malt, says Anna Wallner.
Many applications
Sinebrychoff Porter is a rich flavor experience in itself, but is also good with coffee instead of brandy or related to cooking, such as in sauces, marinades and meat stews. Sinebrychoff Porter is also suitable for chocolate cake or as a flavoring in ice cream, or why not as glaze for dessert. Try also with game meat, heavy meats and oysters.
Please try to serve it in different temperatures, from refrigerated to room temperature as it affects the port's many fine flavor nuances.
Sinebrychoff Porter will be launched at Systembolaget on December 2, in time for the Independence Day of Finland on 6 December. Sinebrychoff Porter will cost 19.90 SEK at Systembolaget.
