General Mills Launches Organic Pea Protein Granola
26 Jun 2014 --- General Mills has introduced a new organic pea-protein granola called Protein Granola under its Cascadian Farm brand, according to reports.
The new organic granola bar, which contains non-GMO ingredients, comes in two flavors: Dark Chocolate Coconut and Apple Crisp. The 250 calorie Dark Chocolate Coconut variety contains ingredients such as whole grain oats, sugar, pea protein, rice, milk protein and dark chocolate chips. It contains 10g protein, 8g total fat; 4g dietary fiber and 12g sugar and is designed to provide the much needed energy to keep going through an active day.
Meanwhile, Apple Crisp granola contains the goodness of whole grain oats, sugar, pea protein, rice, milk protein concentrate, dried apples and cinnamon. It contains 230 calories with 5g fat, 4g dietary fiber, 13g sugar and 10g protein.
Health and nutrition remains the key focus of General Mills. The idea is to appeal to the growing numbers of health-conscious customers who prefer the convenience of packaged food without compromising on health.
The company previously launched Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip and Honey Roasted Nut Protein Chewy Bars with pea protein in January 2014.
