Frutarom Launches a New Range of Barbecue Marinades
10 Feb 2015 --- Frutarom’s new marinades Bali, Sereh and Delikata enable to put some variety on the table. They are versatile, simple to use and on-trend. By using the new marinades, all of which are without flavour enhancing ingredients, fish and meat dishes will be placed into a different light.
Providing Far Eastern flavors, Bali and Sereh score with their outstanding taste profiles and let you sample authentic Asian cuisine. Inspired by the popular Indonesian street snack – satay (grilled meat skewers) – Bali is characterized by a distinct peanut flavor but does not contain allergen ingredients according to the recipe. Offering a variety of preparation options, including Saté-style skewers, it is perfectly suited for pork, poultry, lamb or shrimp. Sereh, meaning lemongrass in Bahasa Indonesia, is named after its main taste giving ingredient and provides a refreshing, zingy character that combines well with the earthy, salty tones of soy sauce. It enables the user to create versatile, Asian-inspired delicacies and is proven to work well with pork, poultry, shrimp and tuna.
"Our marinades are very easy to use," a spokesperson for the company told Food Ingredients First. "Simply brush marinade onto meat, let the marinade work and the meat is ready to be grilled. Thanks to its well-rounded taste profile there's no need to add additional seasoning to the marinaded products. As it takes some time for the marinade to penetrate the meat, we suggest starting the process 12 hours in advance."
Delikata, the third new marinade, capitalizes on the current interest in traditional cuisine. Combining authentic tastes and flavors from the past and present, this marinade has a rustic onion flavor that goes very well with pork or beef, as well as lamb or halibut. It gives grilled meat a comforting, familiar yet innovative touch.
The spokesperson explained that the marinade range is aimed at the meat industry and local butchers. The marinades are perfect for classic barbecue products, such as spare ribs and steaks, but also for seasoning stir-fries.
"Additionally, we also offer a range of marinades that target end consumers: Marinade in a Bag," said the spokesperson. "This works more or less according to the same principle as our regular marinades, and is highly convenient." This product is currently available in three flavours: Classic, Herbs & Garlic and Mustard & Chili.
The barbecue season is expanding to a year-round event – thanks to Frutarom’s new range, preparing outstanding meals with marinated meat or fish is easy. Cooking is not just limited to the barbecue or grill, but can also be done in the pan or the oven. Whether it’s a steak, skewers or stir fry, the new marinades offer a combination of interesting tastes, made with quality ingredients that need no additional spices.
The company says it tends to introduce two or three marinades to its portfolio every year. "For 2015 we have introduced marinades capitalizing on the Asian and local European cuisine trend; key for all three marinades is authenticity," said the spokesperson. "Last year, in line with the FIFA World Championship in Brazil, we focused on typical South American cuisine."
