Food Lion introduces Bertagni fresh filled pastas
Bertagni fresh pastas contain no artificial flavorings or colorings and are filled with only fresh ingredients.
09/12/05 More than 400 Food Lion stores now offer Bertagni fresh filled pastas from Italy. Located in Food Lion's deli-bakery department, Bertagni fresh pastas contain no artificial flavorings or colorings and are filled with only fresh ingredients. Through an exclusive agreement, Food Lion is the first U.S. grocer to offer Bertagni fresh filled pastas.
Food Lion's Bertagni offering includes Porcini Mushroom Tortellini, Spinach Ricotta Ravioli, Tomato Mozzarella Ravioli, Cheese Tortellini, and Gorgonzola and Walnut Ravioli, all priced at $3.69. Preparation is simple -- place in boiling water for a few minutes. Bertagni recommends serving with only olive oil and grated Parmesan to best experience the pastas' rich flavors.
Food Lion has partnered with Sterling Foods Inc. to bring the authentic, fresh filled pastas to Food Lion stores. Each type of pasta comes packaged in a unique paper carton and has a 50-day shelf life.
Bertagni is the oldest manufacturer of tortellini in the world. Luigi Bertagni first made tortellini in his Bologna, Italy, shop in 1882.
Select Food Lion stores in Delaware, Maryland, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia now offer the Bertagni fresh filled pastas. Food Lion customers should see their store's deli manager for more details.
