DMV International launches “better for you” non-hvo cappuccino foamer
Aerion FOAM 210 was developed in response to growing consumer interest in non hydrogenated fat (non hvo) based food products and increased awareness of the effect of hydrogenated fats on health.
07/03/08 DMV International has launched their new cappuccino foamer, Aerion FOAM 210.
Aerion FOAM 210 was developed in response to growing consumer interest in non hydrogenated fat (non hvo) based food products and increased awareness of the effect of hydrogenated fats on health. The foamer enables the development of delicious instant cappuccino’s and other hot instant beverages that require rich and stable foam layers. Aerion FOAM 210 also allows ‘friendly’ labelling and nutrition claims to be made.
“DMV International has developed expertise in the use of non hydrogenated fats in various food ingredient categories. Building upon that expertise, we want to inspire our customers with the launch of our non hvo foamer, Aerion FOAM 210”- says Steven Alexander, Business Line Director Food Systems of DMV International. “Aerion FOAM 210 is another member of the non hvo based ingredients category that we are building, responding to the latest consumer demands.”
Non hvo ingredients enable food manufacturers to launch food products that can be labelled as such, meeting consumer expectations. Following low TFA, non hvo is the next step the industry is expected to take. With the non hvo foamer, DMV International aims to ‘lighten the world’ so to speak. DMV’s new slogan for the Food industry is: “Get inspired by our ideas….. and lighten the world”.
“We decided to develop and position Aerion FOAM 210 as the “better for you” cappuccino foamer. This approach was based on the growth in the instant cappuccino market and increasing consumer health awareness trend and interest in non hvo products,” Lex van Moorsel explains, Market Development Manager for the Business Line Food Systems at DMV International. The instant cappuccino market in the top five Western European markets showed an impressive annual growth of 12% in volume between 2003 and 2006.
Aerion FOAM 210 combines excellent foaming and sensory properties with opportunities for friendly labelling and health claims. The new product is the latest addition to the range of foaming ingredients that DMV International markets under the Aerion FOAM brand name.
Making no concessions in terms of quality, Aerion FOAM 210 offers the following benefits:
• based on non hydrogenated vegetable fat (non hvo)
• significant reduction of saturated fat
• TFA-free (< 0.5%)
• excellent foaming properties: provides high and stable foam layers
• milky, creamy taste
• shelf life stability equal to regular foaming ingredients
