Coppercraft Distillery Doubles Production With New 750 Gallon Still
12 Jun 2014 --- Coppercraft Distillery, a Holland-based distiller of quality spirits with a focus on local ingredients and production, announced the delivery receipt of its new 750 gallon Vendome system still from Vendome Copper and Brass Works of Louisville, Kentucky.
The new system has a stainless steel pot with a copper column standing 18 feet tall. The new still will more than double its production capacity, enabling Coppercraft Distillery to easily meet future demand for its products.
“Since we launched distribution in Michigan we’ve seen a rapid uptick in demand for our batch distilled craft spirits,” said Owner and Co-Founder Walter Catton. “The investment in this still represents our commitment to scale with the demand we expected for our products. This helps us to seamlessly meet demand locally, and as we grow and reach new markets in the coming months.”
Coppercraft Distillery anticipates distribution soon in several new markets, including Chicago, Colorado, and Minnesota.
The distillery’s current capacity is 15,000 cases annually. Production capacity will reach 30,000 cases annually with the addition of the second still. Coppercraft plans to add 3 to 5 new jobs to assist with the increase in production.
Coppercraft Distillery features a 9,000-square-foot distillery and 50-seat tasting room at 184 120th Ave. in Holland, MI. Visitors are invited to sample the products as well as enjoy a hand created cocktail showcasing Coppercraft’s spirits paired with freshly squeezed juices and other ingredients, many of which are made in house. In addition to the current spirits offerings of gin, rum, vodka and citrus flavored vodka, Coppercraft Distillery is also producing and aging bourbons, whiskies and brandies that are set for release later this year; with it’s first whiskies being released Mid-July.
