09 Oct 2023 --- California has become the first state in the US to ban chemicals, including red dye No. 3, potassium bromate, brominated vegetable oil and propylparaben, because of their potential link to health issues like cancer and behavioral problems in children. But not everyone agrees, with the National Confectioners Association (NCA) claiming the law will undermine consumer confidence and create confusion.
