Cargill to Showcase Ingredients Solutions at Ingredients Russia
Of particular focus will be texturizing solutions for dairy and bakery, as well as refined oils and functional fats, some of which have been produced at Cargill’s new factory in Tula.
31/10/08 Cargill, a global supplier of ingredients and innovative applications solutions, will be demonstrating its knowledge of local Russian and Eastern European market needs at Food Ingredients Russia (22-25 November, Pavilion 2, Hall 8 Stand number E17). Of particular focus will be texturizing solutions for dairy and bakery, as well as refined oils and functional fats, some of which have been produced at Cargill’s new factory in Tula.
Since the first Food Ingredients show in Russia in 1998, Cargill has seen the Russian market and consumer interest in food catch up dramatically with its Western neighbours. Health and convenience are the driving trends, underpinned by consumer desire for a tasty and enjoyable eating experience. However, Cargill also appreciates the demands placed on Russian manufacturers and strives to find cost-effective, quality solutions, as will be seen from the prototypes on display.
Leveraging its unrivalled portfolio of texturizing ingredients including hydrocolloids, emulsifiers, lecithins, cultures, starches, soy flour and functional systems, Cargill will highlight its latest developments for cheese. Two prototypes for processed and spreadable cheese will be on display, both of which can result in cost savings in overall production whilst ensuring good texture and mouthfeel. Prototypes for bakery will also be demonstrated.
The refined oils business of Cargill Foods Russia will present a wide range of vegetable oils and fats produced by its refineries in Europe, as well as locally at a new oil plant in Efremov in the Tula region. This modern facility supplies a full range of bulk and packed oils and fats used for direct consumption (such as bottled sunflower oil) or as an ingredient for the production of margarines, spreads, ready meals, bakery, confectionery and potato crisps.
A number of functional fats supplied under the Vegastar and Vegamix brand names have been developed specifically for the local market and should be of particular interest to visitors looking for high-quality vegetable fats for production of spreadable margarines and dairy products. A range of professional frying oils under the Vegafry brand will also be on display.
