Backaldrin Vegan Wholegrain Bread Honored at Gulfood Awards
26 Feb 2015 --- The new yeast-free, vegan wholegrain bread Vegipan was honored with the Gulfood Award 2015 within the context of the most important food fair in the Middle East. This means that backaldrin The Kornspitz Company GbmH is taking the coveted award back home with it for the second time.
Vegipan tastes pleasantly grainy, spreads like a dream and contains high-quality ingredients such as pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds, sesame seeds and linseeds. The taste and idea convinced the international jury of 25 members, amongst others. The industry experts recognized the milestone represented by this new wholegrain bread idea of the family-owned company from Asten by bestowing the Gulfood Award 2015 on it in the category “New Food Product“.

On balance, 300 products from 25 countries were nominated. Global companies and special product brands were honored in eleven categories to mark their special achievements in the food industry with respect to quality and innovation. The event was organized by “Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC)” and FoodBev Media based in the United Arab Emirates. backaldrin already received the prestigious award in 2011 for its PurPur wholegrain bread.
The prestigious award was bestowed on backaldrin at Gulfood’s 20th anniversary celebration in the presence of 1,000 invited guests. Gulfood is one of the most important, largest and most influential trade shows in the Middle East. This year more than 4,800 exhibitors from 120 countries took part. More than 80,000 interested visitors from 170 nations came to the trade fair in Dubai.
