Nactis Flavours Acquires Aromatic Raw Materials Portfolio of PCAS
18 Jan 2016 --- Nactis Flavours, the aromatic raw materials, flavors and aromatic ingredients expert, has completed a new strategic acquisition with the aromatic raw materials portfolio of PCAS. One year after acquiring the Belgian subsidiary of the Robertet Group, Robertet Savory, Nactis Flavours has strengthened its product portfolio again. The PCAS aromatic raw materials range will complement its Synarome brand, specialised in aromatic raw materials and distilled essential oils.
“The acquisition is strategic as the aromatic raw materials portfolio acquired will expand our current one,” Constance Vuatrin Head of Marketing at Nactis Flavours told FoodIngredientsFirst. “Aromatic raw materials are strategic for two main reasons. First, they are essential in terms of flavours composition. Acquiring new raw materials is a way to drive our internal innovation. Secondly, it let us become one of the leading European manufacturer of niche aromatic molecules. This acquisition will create very positive synergies with our Synarome brand,” she added.
PCAS Group, specialised in Pharmaceutical Fine Chemicals and Specialty Chemicals, decided to divest this part of its business as it was no longer part of its strategy. PCAS is quoted on the Euronext Stock Exchange and is headquarted in Longjumeau, France. Products currently made in PCAS Bourgoin-Jallieu plant will be transferred to Nactis Flavors Chartres plant in France in the heart of the Cosmetic Valley.
These new raw materials will drive innovation by offering new flavor compositions opportunities. Nactis Flavors allocates close to 7% of its annual budget to R&D, and was rewarded with the bpifrance’s label “Innovative Company”. A new R&D centre of excellence is under construction in its Bondoufle headquarters, near Paris.
“These new activities will allow Nactis Flavours to become one of the leading European manufacturers of niche aromatic molecules”, says Hervé Lecesne, President and founder of Nactis Flavours. On that occasion, the company will also increase its production and R&D capabilities to expand its production of aroma chemicals and advanced aromatic raw materials, including through biocatalysis in the future.
Nactis Flavours team in charge of the Synarome brand will present the extended range at the World Perfumery Congress (WPC) next June in Florida.
