The MOGUNTIA FOOD GROUP was founded in 1903 by Friedrich Buchholz in Mainz on the Rhine. His vision was to standardize the production of sausage and meat products. True to the motto: „Together we will delight the world with taste and quality“ the company group, now in its 4th generation, offers starter cultures, maturing and spice mixtures, marinades, sauces, technological additives, convenience foods, delicatessen and gift articles and much more. 

At our four production sites in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the UK, we specialize worldwide in the target markets of the butcher's trade, the meat products industry, the food industry, food retail, food service and private label production for food retail. 

Next to Georgsmarienhütte, a site rich in tradition, that is dedicated to the production of liquid goods and an own production site for the complex area of starter cultures and essences in the Swiss town of Gossau, the MOGUNTIA FOOD GROUP also boasts one of the most modern European food factories in Kirchbichl. In addition, production sites on the British Isles mean that the company group is well prepared although the Brexit procedures. In our Hetton-Le-Hole site, powder and liquid products are made, especially for customers in the British Isles. The site specializes in the filling of by-pack sizes and has a state-of-the-art production line for the hot filling of liquid products. 

We see ourselves not only as a supplier, but also as a problem solver. That is why we take on nutritional premises like halal, kosher, vegan and “free from” just as conscientiously as the development of innovations for the right seasoning. As a modern family company, we not only have an obligation in respect to the quality of our products, but we also face up to our responsibility towards the environment and future generations. Sustainability is an integral part of our company ethics and means in particular the long-term securing of our company group, taking into account the economy, environmental protection, social responsibility and transparent communication with customers and consumers. As a signatory of the BSCI Code of Conduct and a member of VLOG and the RSPO we have consistently integrated the topic or responsibility for people and nature into our everyday work.

Synergies in a broad ingredient portfolio for meats

10 May 2019 --- Hybrid products fusing meat and non-meat proteins hold strong potential to cater to flexitarians looking to cut back on their meat consumption for both health and sustainability reasons. This is according to Johannes Tonauer, Manager and Board Member of Moguntia Food Group, which is using IFFA 2019 in Frankfurt (May 4-9) to unify all of the company’s patchwork of product portfolios under one banner. “Hybrid products will be absolutely mainstream, with huge potential for the future,” he tells FoodIngredientsFirst. “We still have the situation of consumers eating either meat or non-meat, but bringing those together for flexitarians will be the future,” Tonauer adds.
