Wild Creates New Products and Coatings for Ice Cream
WILD creates semi-liquid products which can be completely enclosed in ice cream, creating ice cream compositions with a soft center and a texture that can be compared with honey.
9 Aug 2012 --- Summer is here, which means it is ice-cream season, and WILD's new products bring even more enjoyment and variety to consumers' freezers. As a soft filling in ice creams or as layers in ice-cream desserts, these products can be used in many different ways. WILD has also developed new ice-cream coatings, including the first green variety with fruit chunks as well as fruit-yogurt options.
“When you eat ice cream, you want to enjoy it. And manufacturers can offer consumers even more enjoyment by giving them sophisticated products which combine different textures and flavors in a way that is surprising but harmonious,” explains Inga Haubold, Senior Product Manager Food at WILD.
WILD creates semi-liquid products which can be completely enclosed in ice cream, creating ice cream compositions with a soft center and a texture that can be compared with honey. WILD's portfolio features these products in fruit flavors as well as “brown” flavors such as caramel and chocolate. The company consults with manufacturers to help them customize the right flavor for each type of ice cream.
This versatile line of products can be used in everything from fillings for waffles to ice cream cups. Another approach is to use them as a soft layer between several other layers of ice cream. WILD's range of options includes semi-liquid products with chunks of fruit, which creates a distinctive mouthfeel and allows manufacturers to play with different layers and textures.
WILD also offers a variety of creative coatings for ice cream in addition to its semi-liquid products. One such innovation is coatings with visible chunks of fruit, giving consumers more fruit and more “bite.” WILD has produced the first green coating — apple-kiwi — which provides a new accent that pleases the eye and mouth. Exotic “yellow” or “red” mixed-berry flavors are also available. As an alternative, WILD can also integrate natural fruit granules into the coating, resulting in eye catching ice cream products in the supermarket freezer. Another new option is fruit-yogurt coatings in flavors such as blueberry, strawberry, lemon or forest berries.
In addition to its fruit flavors, WILD also provides a wide range of “brown” flavors for ice cream toppings. Manufacturers can choose among caramel, tiramisu, chocolate, toffee, cappuccino and others to generate premium positioning and differentiate their products from competitors on the market.
WILD's semi-liquid products and its coatings contain exclusively natural flavors and colors.
