28/12/06 According to thebar.com's "Toasts and Tastes" survey, conducted by Harris Interactive and released, of adults (LDA 21+) who drink alcoholic beverages, 33 percent prefer vodka drinks, like Smirnoff or Ciroc as an alternative to champagne for a New Year's cocktail. Rum - such as Captain Morgan's Original Spiced - was named as the second most popular New Year's alternative with a respectable 24 percent.
Champagne has long been the traditional way to ring in the New Year, but with cocktails making a comeback and the increasing variety of premium spirits to choose from, party revelers are coming up with creative ways to celebrate.
