VION Food Netherlands to Concentrate Pork Activities, Affecting 130 Jobs

05 Aug 2013 --- VION Food Netherlands will further concentrate its pork activities. To this end, VION Food Boxtel will take over the activities of VION Food Helmond. The Helmond location will be closed. This decision is the result of VION Food Group’s new course which was announced on 24 April 2013.

The change is part of the restructuring of food activities in the Netherlands and Germany. This efficiency measure is necessary to restore results on the highly competitive pork market.

The change will affect the jobs of 130 of its own staff. VION will do its utmost to re-assign staff internally. This partly depends on the redundancy scheme to be agreed upon. The Group Works Council at VION Food Netherlands has been asked for its recommendations with regard to the proposed decision.

VION Food Netherlands has two business units: pork and beef. The company produces and processes high-quality pork and beef products at nine production locations in the Netherlands. It supplies client-specific products and innovative concepts to retail, industrial and foodservice clients in the Netherlands, Europe and the rest of the world.
