Univar has become a trusted distributor for Amilina (formerly known as Malsena), the largest flour producer in the Baltic States, founded in 1841. Amilina runs a modern wet wheat mill in Panevezys, the heart of the Lithuanian agroindustrial business and Baltic Wheat Belt. The company processes wheat into starch and vital gluten fractions. The remaining by-products of the wet process are processed, concentrated, mixed with wheat bran, dried, and pelletized into animal feed pellets.
Univar will distribute Amilina starch products, renowned for their high purity and extremely low microbiological count, in Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Ireland, Luxemburg, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. Amilina, which is both ISO 9001 and ISO 22000 certified, has an excellent reputation for the quality of its starch products, which are used throughout a variety of industries.
