Trésors De Grèce Products First To Be Verified Non GM by Cert ID Europe
03 Dec 2014 --- DE Thomadakis & Sons Ltd, exporters of premium Greek delicacies has become the first company to have its Trésors de Grèce branded products - olive oil, olives, organic mountain honey, sundried tomatoes, sesame butter, sesame oil and bread rusks - verified as non-GM under a new scheme from Cert ID Europe, experts in Non-GM certification.
The unique new Cert ID Non-GM Verification system has been designed for food manufacturers and ingredients suppliers who wish to avoid genetically modified ingredients but who do not wish to undertake complete Non-GM Certification.
The scheme is particularly suitable for European food producers and manufacturers wishing to target the European and North American markets where awareness of GM issues is increasing.
The new Cert ID Non-GM Verification Scheme reviews a client’s documentary evidence and assesses the risk of GM being present in the supply chain. This ‘desktop review’ approach means that suppliers can have their products verified by a leading certification body in the field without the cost and commitment of full scale certification and without compromising the rigour that their customers expect from Cert ID.
Vangelis Thomadakis from DE Thomadakis & Sons said: “Non-GM is an important consideration for our target consumers at the premium end of the market and builds upon the all-natural, locally produced ethos of Trésors de Grèce products. As a small company Non GM Verification from Cert ID Europe has given us ‘added value’ without the cost and time investment required for full certification.”
DE Thomadakis & Sons Ltd has specialised in fine foods since 1992 and its Trésors de Grèce products are available in in premium delicatessens throughout Greece.
