SPC Ardmona shareholders vote in favor of Coke takeover
04 Feb 2005
The merged entity bowed to the $500 million offer from Coca Cola Amatil.
04/02/05 Canned fruit and vegetable grower SPC Ardmona Ltd. shareholders have overwhelmingly voted to approve its takeover by Coca Cola Amatil (CCA) Ltd in Australia. SPC and Ardmona, which were SPC and Ardmona – long time Shepparton rivals – joined forces two years ago after more than 80 years of battling it out on the supermarket shelves. But the merged entity bowed to the $500 million offer from CCA with 94 per cent of its 3,500 shareholder backing the deal.
