Save Me, San Francisco Wine Co. Releases "Bulletproof Picasso" Sauvignon Blanc After Earning Impact Hot Brand Award
29 Jul 2014 --- Save Me, San Francisco Wine Co. has been awarded the prestigious Impact "Hot Brand Award" for 2013 and will be featured in the upcoming September issue of Impact and the October issue of Market Watch. Along with this important accolade, the wine collection announces the launch of its sixth varietal offering, "Bulletproof Picasso" Sauvignon Blanc.
Sourced from Sonoma County, the handcrafted wine is named after Train's seventh studio album and will be available when the album is released, September 16, 2014. True to its varietal character, "Bulletproof Picasso" is a classic Sauvignon Blanc fermented in 100 percent stainless steel, exhibiting intense, fruit-forward flavors of grapefruit and fresh lemon balanced by a clean, crisp finish.
"Wine and music tell stories and connect those who share them," says Jimmy Stafford, the band's lead guitarist. "Just as a song's message strikes a chord with so many people, our wines will transport you back to that moment. We hope you're inspired to make new memories as you share a bottle of 'Bulletproof Picasso' Sauvignon Blanc."
The varietals within the Save Me, San Francisco Wine Company all bear labels inspired by Train's beginnings in the San Francisco Bay Area, and "Bulletproof Picasso" Sauvignon Blanc is no exception. In the early years, the members of Train rehearsed at Jimmy Stafford's apartment near the historic painted houses known as the "Painted Ladies" for their vivid colors that transform with the sunlight. The "Bulletproof Picasso" label image pays homage to this place, one of their favorite spots in the city, for its fresh air, beautiful views and creative spirit.
"What began as a passion project has grown into a full collection of award-winning wines," says Save Me, San Francisco winemaker James Foster. "Jimmy [Stafford] and I work together on every stage of production for our wines, and we are excited to share our newest offering with wine and music fans alike."
Save Me, San Francisco Wine Co. proudly donates proceeds from its sales to support Family House, a non-profit organization providing temporary housing to families of seriously ill children receiving treatment at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Benioff Children's Hospital.
