Organic concepts for the beverage industry
High consumer demand, the commitment of the manufacturers of branded organic products and the increasing number of organic supermarkets are all fueling growth in the organic segment.
21/08/07 The number of non-alcoholic, certified organic beverages is steadily growing. In 2002, there were approximately 500 products available in Germany; by 2006, there were 1,500 non-alcoholic organic beverages available. Currently, it's not only pure fruit juices that bear the organic seal - manufacturers of drinks in other categories are also developing products with certified organic ingredients. WILD supplies the ideal concepts for organic products.
As a result of food scandals and reports on the high levels of pesticides in conventionally grown fruit and vegetables, increasing numbers of consumers are interested in organic products. In 2006, organic foods and beverages reached sales of USD 40 billion worldwide. Industry experts expect the high growth rates to continue in coming years.
WILD offers organic concepts for a variety of product areas in the beverage industry. For fruit juices, fruit spritzers, refresher beverages, near-water drinks, soft drinks or tea drinks with organic extracts, WILD works closely with customers and in line with consumer requirements to develop tasty organic concepts.
High consumer demand, the commitment of the manufacturers of branded organic products and the increasing number of organic supermarkets are all fueling growth in the organic segment. In the food industry, the categories of baked goods, meat and finished products are the primary product leaders.
Non-alcoholic organic beverages have moved from a secondary role in market potential to a successful forecasted future. With a yearly growth rate of 62 percent in 2006, fruit juices and vegetable juices with certified organic ingredients were the frontrunners in Germany, compared to otherwise declining tendencies in the conventional juices market.
For its organic beverage concepts, WILD uses only certified organically grown raw materials. The raw materials follow the EC organic production regulation. Growers, manufacturers and fillers must also be certified in accordance with the organic seal guidelines and be regularly audited. This ensures that the strict cultivation and quality criteria of the organic seal are adhered to at all stages of the production process.
