NutriSoy soy protein marks National Heart Awareness Month
Launches 2005 American Heart Association Heart Walk Tour.
28/02/05 February is National Heart Awareness Month and NutriSoy soy protein is celebrating its national sponsorship of the American Heart Association Heart Walks by kicking off a multi-city, heart-health education and awareness tour.
NutriSoy soy protein, an ingredient found in many healthy foods and beverages, is cholesterol-free, low in saturated fat and contains virtually all of the essential amino acids the human body needs.
The American Heart Association has recognized the possible cholesterol-lowering effects of soy protein, adding it to the limited list of foods it recommends to reduce the risk of heart disease. In 1999, the FDA approved a health claim which states that a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol that includes 25 grams of soy protein a day may reduce the risk of heart disease. That means eating tasty soy burgers, soy pasta, soy protein-enhanced cereal and healthy soy protein snacks containing NutriSoy(R) soy protein can be beneficial for heart health.
