Noble Spirits Unite as the Crown Royal Lineage Thickens with a New Cognac Finished Blend
Crown Royal Cask No. 16 begins with a unique blend of more than 50 different and individually aged whiskies. When prepared, the new creation is then placed in authentic French oak casks, born from the lush Limousin forest in France.
15/10/07 Crown Royal, the number one selling whisky in the US by value, is unveiling the newest addition to its renowned portfolio with the ultra-premium Crown Royal Cask No. 16. A blend of two great noble traditions, Cask No. 16 finishes a special, handcrafted whisky blend in rare Cognac casks.
Paying painstaking detail to every aspect of the new liquid's formation, including the selection of the exquisite Cognac casks themselves, Crown Royal Master Blender Andrew MacKay joins this refined essence of fine Cognac to the rich history and unique blend of Crown Royal.
"From its royal beginnings, Crown Royal has created a rich history of providing quality products and unique experiences to our consumers and Cask No. 16 is a massive step in that continuing journey," said Ami-Lynn Bakshi, Vice President, Crown Royal. "Every ounce of Crown Royal's resources and legendary blending expertise was put into Cask No. 16. The extra care that is taken elevates Crown Royal Cask No. 16 to a whole new level and the result is a smooth, luxurious taste experience that is far beyond ordinary."
"Crown Royal and Cognac are often referred to as Noble Spirits due to their distinguished history and craftsmanship," said Andrew MacKay, Master Blender, Crown Royal. "This blend is a perfect balance of the grain characters of whisky and the fruity oakiness found in Cognac."
Each bottle is adorned in a faceted 750ml decanter-style bottle, which is wrapped in a black velvet bag with gold stitching. The bottle is then encased in a black and gold gift tube. Beginning this month, it will be available in liquor outlets nationwide for $100.00 (suggested retail price).
Crown Royal Cask No. 16 begins with a unique blend of more than 50 different and individually aged whiskies. When prepared, the new creation is then placed in authentic French oak casks, born from the lush Limousin forest in France. Each exceedingly rare cask is marked with the number "16" to represent its place of origin. The Cognac finish combines with the Crown Royal blend to form a flavorful and lingering liquid that has a balanced yet complex taste of initial smokiness ending with subtle hints of rich dried fruit.
