New Evaporator for The FrieslandCampina Domo Bedum Location
06 Jun 2013 --- In the night of Monday to Tuesday 4 June 2013, an evaporator was transported by road to the FrieslandCampina Domo production location in Bedum. Given its enormous size and to keep inconvenience to other road users to a minimum, this was carried out by special transport during the night hours.
The evaporator, which is 3.5 metres wide and 24 metres long, evaporates water from milk to form powder. The new evaporator will be hoisted by crane into its proper place.
Investments Bedum production plant
FrieslandCampina is investing more than 100 million euros in the expansion of the production plant in Bedum. The construction and installation of the new evaporator is part of substantial capacity growth plans at FrieslandCampina Domo with a view to processing the anticipated increase in the quantity of milk from 2015. Bedum can now also be used as a production location for infant and toddler nutrition.
