New Easy-Peel Lids Prove Winning Ingredient for Heinz Beanz Fridge Pack
Maximum seal performance provides both quality and convenience by ensuring that the product does not leak and that its ‘easy-peel’ properties ensure ease-of-use by the consumer.
6 Dec 2010 --- Quality and peel performance have proven to be winning ingredients for the new Heinz Beanz Fridge Pack, thanks to the newly specified high barrier lidding features created by LPF Flexible Packaging.
Household brand Heinz appointed LPF Flexible Packaging to supply the high barrier lidding required for its new family fridge pack, due to its superior quality, specification and easy-peel properties.
LPF Flexible Packaging, part of the Clondalkin Group Flexible Packaging Division, created an 80mm high barrier, reel-fed lid made from a transparent three-layer structure with glass coated polyester, nylon and special high-performance sealable and peelable cast polypropylene, created by its sister company, Wentus in Germany.
The chosen specification delivers multiple benefits, including tamper evidence, an excellent oxygen barrier, longer shelf-life of up to 15 months, retortable up to 131 degrees Celsius and can deliver better value than induction sealing.
Maximum seal performance provides both quality and convenience by ensuring that the product does not leak and that its ‘easy-peel’ properties ensure ease-of-use by the consumer.
The Heinz Beanz Fridge Pack is an exciting new product that provides an alternative to the traditional tin can. The packaging keeps Heinz baked beans fresh in the fridge for up to five days, allowing consumers to choose portion sizes to suit their requirements.
Ron Harland, sales manager at LPF Flexible Packaging, said: “The new Heinz Beanz Fridge Pack is a fantastic new concept and one that is already very popular among consumers. LPF Flexible Packaging produces numerous high performance lidding products and these are exported worldwide.
“At present, our transparent high-performance lidding runs on over 120 packaging lines and is widely used on plastic cups and trays for a range of everyday food products. It is an excellent product for companies looking at choices in addition to tin cans and glass jars to reduce packaging weight, increase convenience and showcase their products to their full potential.”
