Nactarome acquires Calaf Nuances flavor house as acquisition charge gathers pace
11 May 2023 --- Nactarome has acquired Calaf Nuances, a Spanish-based producer of flavors solutions with broad application expertise across F&B categories. The move marks the company’s fourth acquisition this year, as it continues to expand its product offering. The purchase was completed on May 5, 2023.
Earlier this month, Nactarome acquired Royal Buisman, a producer of natural and clean label caramel ingredients.
The company is focused on providing a comprehensive portfolio of all-in-one natural flavorings, extracts and functional ingredients to the global F&B industry. The group has grown exponentially in the last five years, comprising 13 production sites and over 550 employees.
Cross-market flavor boosts
Nactarome indicates that Calaf Nuances will provide “an interesting addition to its range of sweet and savory flavors and blends for F&B.”

New flavor tech
Calaf Nuances has many international customers across Spain, Europe and Mexico.
The flavor house is recognized for its own-created flavors. Besides molecular flavor creation, it boasts in-house technologies, including biotransformation, maillard reactions, distillation, concentration and encapsulation to create differentiating flavors for every application in the food industry.

Earlier this year, Thai-China Flavours and Fragrances Industry formed a new strategic partnership agreement with Nactarome, providing a comprehensive portfolio of all-in-one natural flavorings, extracts and functional ingredients to the global F&B industry.
