13/02/07 This spring, get ready to taste paradise. Legendary brand builders, Sidney Frank Importing Co., Inc., and Tommy Bahama are pleased to introduce Tommy Bahama Rum, the first ultra-premium rum from Barbados.
Tommy Bahama is the purveyor of island lifestyles. For years, customers have been enjoying the Tommy Bahama experience. From luxury sportswear to elegant timepieces, fine furnishings to tropical cafes, Tommy Bahama has complemented the good times with good taste. Now, sip into the good life with Tommy Bahama Rum.
Tommy Bahama Rum is made in Barbados at the legendary R. L. Seale Distillery. R. L. Seale has been crafting rum for more than 80 years and four generations. Their experience shows in every elegant bottle of Tommy Bahama.
Tommy Bahama Rum comes in two delightfully distinct flavors: Tommy Bahama White Sand and Tommy Bahama Golden Sun. Each begins with the best blackstrap molasses and the cleanest, clearest water naturally filtered through coral stone. Tommy Bahama Rums are fermented using a specially selected yeast imported from the wine-growing regions of South Africa. While Barbados is an ideal setting for the aging of rum due to its climate, R. L. Seale goes further to create the best setting for maturation. They age the rum at a lower proof to preserve the most delicate flavors. The lower the strength, the more barrels needed, and so Tommy Bahama is aged in small batches in smaller barrels.
Tommy Bahama White Sand Rum is aged a minimum of two years in American white oak barrels. A clear, light-bodied rum, White Sand has a smooth entry and clean finish with hints of tangy, tropical fruit. Tommy Bahama Golden Sun Rum is a blend of rums aged a minimum of three years in American white oak barrels. A full-bodied, amber rum, Golden Sun has an elegant, fruity nose and a taste nuanced with hints of coffee, roasted nuts, and sweet pralines.
While the taste sets Tommy Bahama Rum above all others, its packaging sets it apart. Custom-designed with bold, long lines and broad shoulders, each bottle is hand decorated for a polished, sophisticated look. The elegant Tommy Bahama signature and the cool palm set the tone for an unparalleled rum experience.
"This will be, hands down, the biggest spirit brand launch ever," says Lee Einsidler, C.E.O. of Sidney Frank Importing Co., Inc., the creators of the rum. "Joining forces with Tommy Bahama and R. L. Seale to create a rum is a can't-miss opportunity. Other spirits have had their chance in the luxury spotlight. Now it's rum's turn. Tommy Bahama Rum will bring rum to a whole new level."
"Sidney Frank Importing is the perfect partner to produce Tommy Bahama Rum," says Tony Margolis, President and CEO of Tommy Bahama. "There is little doubt that with the expertise they bring to us, Tommy Bahama Rum will be a huge success.""
