Independence Brewing Releases RedBud
06 Apr 2015 --- Austin’s Independence Brewing announced the release of its new summer seasonal, RedBud. Available in 6-pack can format, the crisp Berliner Weiss hits the shelves of select retailers including Specs, Central Market, Whole Foods, and HEB stores in Austin, Houston, College Station and San Antonio. The brew will also be available on tap at various locations throughout Texas from April through late September.
The brewery’s new seasonal captures the essence of summer, and with an ABV of 4.2%, it’s a drinkable beer aptly designed to quench the thirst of parched beer drinkers during the unyielding heat of summer. Inspired by classically tart and refreshing Berliner Weisse flavor profile, RedBud is light and lemony with a crisp acidity. It is brewed with a lactic culture to create the classic sour-citrusy lemon flavor and finished with high carbonation. Founders Rob and Amy Cartwright say the inspiration for the name came from the popular local swimming hole, Red Bud Isle, which similarly provides much-needed refreshing relief during the long hot Texas summers.
